The Highline: Part Deux

The opening of the Highline’s second section is right around the corner and all of us here at Squeaky are psyched since its newest entrances will literally be, around the corner.

Take A Trip to Carnegie Deli

2011 NYC Restaurant Week

restaurantweek

It’s that time of year again people! Time to loosen your belt buckles and indulge in the vast array of cuisine that NYC has to offer. Restaurant Week kicks off this week and in order to make the best of it you should start filling out your itineraries now. Book through OpenTable if you’d like or just check out the restaurants (check out the list of venues and menus here) that are participating and make your reservations the old-fashioned way. We’ve got a few favorites of our own…

Butter: They have a delectable menu but the venue itself is extraordinary. You can dine upstairs in the Great Room, where the vaulted ceilings are accompanied by a gorgeous mural of a birch forest. Or if you head downstairs to the Birch Room, you’ll become immersed in a silver birch wood-lined dining area that has a more intimate feel.

Aldea: A wonderful atmosphere in which to enjoy your meal. We here at Squeaky enjoy their seafood dishes but we especially love their decor.

Nobu: If you like Japanese food, check out Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s fusion dishes. He combines traditional Japanese cuisine with mostly Peruvian and Argentinian ingredients.

A Voce: A great Italian restaurant with a HUGE wine selection. They boast over 1,750 selections! Need we say more?

Restaurants are a dime a dozen in NYC but few meet our expectations.  When they do come along we like to give them a shout out. One of these gems is DBGB Kitchen & Bar. We’re not a food blog so we will let you go elsewhere for a more in-depth read on the restuarant. But, we will pass along this challenge. If you go there and do not enjoy the fried egg “bourguignon” you can drop by the Squeaky loft and we will provide you with enough wine to make all your troubles disappear.
