Fashion’s Night Out NYC ’11

It’s that time of year again. That’s right, Fashion’s Night Out NYC is back. Are you ready to hit the NYC streets for one of the biggest fashion parties in the world?

FNO NYC 2011 will feature even more events and locations than previous years and this time you can even participate online from home. With so many things to see and buy, you’ll definitely need to plan your night carefully. Luckily FNO’s website lets you do that fairly easily. You can even download the free FNO NYC iPhone application to plan and keep your itinerary by your side.

The weather may hinder things a bit, but nonetheless the streets will be flooded with designers, celebrities and fashionistas mingling, shopping and checking out exclusive FNO events. Free Friday: Red Bull Creation

With every project that Squeaky tackles—regardless of the client or what industry they belong to—creativity is the key to its success.

This is why were excited to discover that Red Bull is having a creative competition this weekend in our very own backyard. If you want to witness a true battle of creativity head over to McCarren Park in Brooklyn for the Red Bull Creation competition.

This event challenges contestants to build creations designed to move the weight of a person (100 lbs.) from point A to point B with the catch being that they cannot use any type of fossil fuels.

So if you’re life could use a little creativity and innovation check out the Red Bull Creation competition this Sunday and witness a battle of the brains. It’s a free event that is open to the public and should be an awesome display of creativity at its finest. Enjoy!

United Insight’s Word-of-Mouth Marketing Conference Delivers

United Insight hosted a great half-day conference last Wednesday in New York called “The Science of Word-of-Mouth in the Age of Social Media.” Like all conferences, this one was successful because of the quality of its speakers who provided valuable and actionable insights for attendees. Squeaky was fortunate to be in attendance and picked up a few gems about marketing and social media in particular that hit home for us. These are things that are standard practice for our own social media service offerings and what we teach our clients, but are key nonetheless.

Nowadays everyone is using social media. It is an easy, cost-effective way to broadcast your company or business and it works especially well for small businesses. Using sites like Facebook, Twitter, or a Blog help you to connect with those who directly fuel your business and help spread the word around the web. We found a few examples of small businesses doing a great job of using these different platforms to improve their company.
