United Insight’s Word-of-Mouth Marketing Conference Delivers

United Insight hosted a great half-day conference last Wednesday in New York called “The Science of Word-of-Mouth in the Age of Social Media.” Like all conferences, this one was successful because of the quality of its speakers who provided valuable and actionable insights for attendees. Squeaky was fortunate to be in attendance and picked up a few gems about marketing and social media in particular that hit home for us. These are things that are standard practice for our own social media service offerings and what we teach our clients, but are key nonetheless.

Almay Site is Live!

Squeaky is proud to announce the launch of the newly revamped Almay.com. With heavy content functionality and ease of use was important for us with this project. Squeaky also created a few new sections to further engage site-comers.

The Buzz section is dedicated to providing information about new and award-winning Almay products and also highlights their best-selling items. It is here where visitors can access the Kate Hudson Brand Ambassador page to access photos and videos of Kate as well as her favorite Almay products.

We also created a video section where visitors can discover ‘Get the Look‘ videos demonstrating how to achieve particular looks worn by Kate in Something Borrowed. Visitors can even access television spots and behind-the-scenes footage in this section—further immersing them in the brand while simultaneously educating them on different ways to use Almay products.

Check out the Almay site and let us know what you think.

Mobile Takeover, Stats & Facts

As an interactive agency, we at Squeaky know that our industry is constantly changing and being aware of what’s trending and what’s popular is an important contributing factor to how we go about producing great work for our clients. So we have put together a killer presentation that takes an in-depth look at vital statistics surrounding mobile marketing.

The mobile platform—as you may already know—is growing at an extraordinary rate in terms of users and more people are purchasing smartphones each day. Mobile devices are everywhere we look and have become embedded within our society so much that many of us have grown dependent on them in terms of storing our information. Think about it. How many phone numbers can you recall by heart?

Last year Apple blew everyone away with their new tablet and 2010 was appropriately dubbed the year of the iPad. This year however we can see an emergence of new tablets and mobile devices to compete with it (see 2011 The Year of Mobile). This is good news for marketers and advertisers because it creates a whole new interactive platform on which to engage your audience. These aren’t the—dare we say—lame, barely functioning devices of the Zack Morris era but rather devices that help to create a richer experience for the user as well as provide new ways for marketers to reach their audience and gather data.

Check out the presentation above and stay tuned for more in the near future.

Live Like a Local in SXSW

SXSW is one of the largest annual Music/Film/Interactive events in the U.S. and  Squeaky and Crowdbeacon are excited to take part in it again this year. On our last trip down, we were in awe at how many awesome venues Austin had to offer (way too many to try them all). So this time we figured we’d better prepare for the sensory overload that will invariably occur.

After asking the good people of Austin (via Crowdbeacon) the places that must be tried while attending SXSW, we came up with an extensive guide to everything from the best karaoke bars to the best 24 hour spots with omelets at 2 am. Besides, who knows Austin better than the locals?

Check it out here and start living like a local.

We hope to see you down there! Get in touch with us! @SqueakyNYC @Crowdbeacon

Crowdbeacon: Turning Location Into Communication

cblogo

We are thrilled to present to you the latest Squeaky Project: Crowdbeacon! What is it? Crowdbeacon is a location-based service focused on providing relevant, localized communication and information to users based on what they need and where they are.

Out and about and need to find the best drink specials by you? Maybe you’ve been busy and need to pick up a last minute anniversary gift. Regardless of what you may be looking for from Lagers to Lingerie, Crowdbeacon has the answer.

Now you may be thinking to yourself, “What is so different about this application? Aren’t there apps out there like this?” The answer is no. Crowdbeacon is unique because it is focused on communication that is supported by localized information. Other apps incorporate certain elements of the Crowdbeacon platform, but none of them are focused on helping people find more information about what’s happening around them through communication.

It’s time to give up on checking in and start checking out what’s hot around you. Don’t just take our word for it, download it for free today and join the Crowdbeacon revolution!
